Florida is one of the top states in the country when it comes to tourism. Many of the state’s cities welcome tons of visitors each and every year, and not just during the summer season either. What’s more is that while the slender peninsula of a state is full of great beaches, it’s certainly not just about the stunning ocean water and white sand. Are you ready to take a look at some of the top ranked attractions in the state of Florida?
While there are many of Florida’s cities that have top ranked attractions, you can imagine that the overall rankings are initially heavily weighted towards Orlando. In other words, Orlando takes up many of the top spots in the rankings. So let’s look at an Orlando attraction first before we move to one attraction each in three other Florida cities.
Obviously every part of Disney World is the top attraction in Orlando. It can be broken down into many top attractions. Let’s take a look at an attraction that you might not have heard of yet because you can certainly find Disney World.
Skeletons: Museum of Osteology is one attraction in Orlando that you might want to visit. It is located on International Drive, and I have to say it is certainly unique looking. I’m not exactly sure what to say because finding it on the list caught me off guard. It would definitely be something different to do.
McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is another great attraction. It is found on 61st Street North in the city of West Palm Beach FL. Reviews mention that there is a tour guide, and you get to see a white tiger. It should be mentioned, however, that this attraction is always changing as to what animals are there because the facility is in place for rehabilitating the animals. One person talked about bringing Egyptian geese that were sick up to McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum is a great historical attraction to visit in Florida, and you find this attraction in Key West. You can find this home and museum on Whitehead Street, and if you haven’t heard, it’s a place for cat lovers. Ernest Hemmingway was a cat lover, and by the way, reviews mention six toed cats? That was a surprise, and I’m sure there are many other great surprises at this top attraction in Key West, Florida, too.
For the final attraction, we are headed to St. Augustine FL. The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum is on Red Cox Drive. Yes, you get to climb up to the top of the lighthouse. Can you imagine the view from up there? It would be majestic I’m sure.
How is that for four of Florida’s top ranked attractions? I think I picked out some good ones – make sure to visit them with a luxury car rental for even more pleasure.
Of course, there are a ton of great things to do in the state of Florida, starting with Disney World and everything it has to offer. There are so many different attractions to enjoy, so you better get to planning that vacation.
